Pirates and Fanatics Bring New Retail Experience to PNC Park

The Pittsburgh Pirates, in partnership with Fanatics, officially opened the doors to a new retail experience at PNC Park today. Located on Federal Street, the new Pirates Clubhouse Store is a single level retail space that is more than double the size of the previous location. The Pirates and Fanatics first partnered in 2016 and the opening of the new Clubhouse Store kicks off a recent 10-year extension and expansion of their partnership, which will see the team tap into several areas of the larger Fanatics business to elevate the fan retail experience.

The store represents a first of its kind brick and mortar retail experience at a ballpark for Fanatics. In addition to an overall expanded merchandise assortment, the store features several concept shops throughout the larger store space from leading brands including Nike, Mitchell & Ness and WinCraft. Other features include:

  • An overall aesthetic designed to celebrate the city’s rich history, drawing inspiration from local culture including yellow beams to honor Pittsburgh’s iconic Three Sisters Bridge

  • Exclusive sale of Pirates authenticated game-used and autographed memorabilia

  • Topps Baseball Card activation station where fans can create their own customized Topps baseball card

  • Customized jersey station where fans can personalize Pirates jerseys

  • Self check-out technology

  • Ticker tape style LED screens line the interior of the space

“This is another example of how we are working hard to continue to evolve the fan experience at PNC Park,” said Travis Williams, Pirates President. “From the beginning, Fanatics have been fantastic partners in creating this new retail experience featuring unique elements and offerings for our fans. The open floor plan, single level experience will not only enhance the gameday experience, but the Federal Street experience year-round.”

“We appreciate the Pirates continued commitment to bring a best-in-class retail experience to fans at PNC Park, and we’re incredibly proud to officially open this new state-of-the-art shopping experience,” said Ed O’Brien, Fanatics SVP of Business Development. “By tapping into brands across our network, Fanatics will create an elevated retail footprint which allows Pirates fans to create deeper connections with the team and players they love.”

Fans can access the 8,450 square foot store both from outside the ballpark on Federal Street and from inside the ballpark underneath the left field bleachers. The new store will be over twice as large as the previous main store, signaling the Pirates commitment to improving the PNC Park retail experience.
