TOWN & COUNTRY: Is Michael Rubin America’s Most Popular Billionaire?

I am deep inside the Javits Center, on the far west side of Manhattan, for the first day of Fanatics Fest, a mind-blowing extravaganza that conjoins some of the biggest names in sports, the business of sports, popular music, and the world of social media influencers (IShowSpeed, anyone?) with thousands of, yes, their fanatics, who pay at least $60 per person and then pay even more for autographs and pictures. There is memorabilia up the wazoo, as well as opportunities to bet on sporting events, to buy and sell sports trading cards, to listen to sports media personalities blither, and to just generally soak up the vibe of celebrities and of their adoring fans and well-paid attendants.
